Local and top-rated international channels got priority in package selection

RealVU, country’s first DTH (Direct-to-Home) service provider, for the first time unveiled its content strategy at the World Content Market conference held in Moscow recently. The content policy of RealVU was shared at the conference

The content strategy of RealVU is based on the formation of a balanced proposal, which takes into account the genre preferences of the population of the country. A competitive analysis done by the content team of RealVU, demonstrated the disadvantages of the local analog and illegal satellite operators, currently working in the market, which has low penetration and poor signal quality.


Despite the fact that illegal DTH broadcast over 300 channels, they neglect the local Bangladeshi channels. Based on the result of the analysis, it was decided to focus RealVU on TV channels in Bengali, English and regional languages. Similarly to language criteria, content genres have also been analyzed where focus was made on popular entertaining genres, movies, TV series, sports broadcasting and educational and children’s content.

After considering all the finding of the analysis on local and top-rated international channels, the RealVU package includes Discovery Networks, Sony Corporation, Turner Broadcasting System (TBS), Indiacast, Zee Entertainment Enterprise, Star India TV network and others. In total, RealVU offers to its subscribers 105 digital channels at an affordable price of BDT 300 per month which includes 5 HD channels. RealVU is working to increase the number of TV channels and expanding the HD package for their mega launch.
