World’s leading CRM provider Salesforce announced significant expansions to its AI, data, and governance capabilities aimed at helping enterprises scale accurate, explainable, and secure AI across every workflow. As per a study conducted by American Research Firm Rand, more than 80% of AI projects fail to deliver value, often because of poor data quality, weak governance, and fragmented integration. Recognizing this, Salesforce is creating a unified foundation where AI agents can operate with consistent accuracy, context, and control.
The new Trusted
AI foundation supports the “Agentic Enterprise,” a model in which humans and AI
collaborate seamlessly in decisions, workflows, and interactions. This
foundation ensures that AI outputs are grounded in unified business data,
embeds visibility, control, and compliance into workflows, and connects agents,
data, and semantics across ecosystems to prevent vendor lock-in and maintain
consistency.
Building on this
foundation, Salesforce introduced innovations such as Data Cloud Context
Indexing, which allows AI agents to interpret unstructured content like
contracts, diagrams, and tables through a business-aware lens, enabling precise
and actionable answers quickly. The Data Cloud Clean Rooms feature lets
enterprises securely collaborate and analyze data without exposing raw
information, using zero-copy connectivity to enhance security and reduce
storage costs. Tableau Semantics provides an AI-powered semantic layer
integrated with Data Cloud that translates raw data into business language,
while the Customer 360 Semantic Data Model unifies cross-cloud data and
metadata to ensure consistent and trustworthy insights. Salesforce is
partnering with Databricks, dbt Labs, and Snowflake to standardize semantics
across platforms.
MuleSoft Agent
Fabric acts as a central hub to register, orchestrate, and govern AI agents,
reducing fragmentation and enabling automated collaboration throughout
workflows. Embedded AI security and compliance capabilities, supported by
integrations with CrowdStrike and Okta, ensure proactive monitoring and risk
management. In addition, Salesforce’s planned acquisition of Informatica,
expected to close by Q1 FY27, will bring advanced metadata, data catalog,
governance, and master data management capabilities into its platform, further
unifying data architecture for safe and scalable agentic AI.
Rahul Auradkar,
EVP and GM of Unified Data Services at Salesforce, said, “At Salesforce, we
believe AI is the most powerful enabler of business transformation today. But
for it to deliver on its promise, it must be grounded in deep business context
to power the true force multipliers: intelligent automation and actionable insights.
That’s why we’re building a unified foundation that harmonizes all of a
company’s structured and unstructured data to surface these insights and fuel
this automation, all grounded in the governance and security needed to operate
with confidence. With these innovations, we’re helping our customers move
faster, scale responsibly, and unlock the full potential of the Agentic
Enterprise.”
