Two Adani Airports Make Their Mark on UNESCO-Recognised 'Prix Versailles' List

Dhaka, 17 June 2026: Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) has reached a remarkable milestone in the world of global architecture and design. The company's Navi Mumbai International Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati have been named in the prestigious UNESCO-recognised 'Prix Versailles World's Most Beautiful Airports 2026' list. The achievement further reinforces Adani's commitment to developing world-class infrastructure.

Held annually at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris since 2015, the Prix Versailles is widely regarded as one of the world's foremost honours in architecture and design. Airports are selected for the list based on contemporary innovation, cultural heritage, sustainable development, and excellence in passenger experience.

Navi Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 1 represents a remarkable fusion of India's rich heritage and forward-looking vision. Built in the shape of a lotus flower, the terminal is a seamless blend of technology and art, and has emerged as a symbol of modern India's economic ambition and aspirations.

Guwahati Airport's Terminal 2, on the other hand, has been crafted in harmony with nature. Its biophilic architecture, inspired by the 'Bamboo Orchid', celebrates the rich biodiversity of northeast India. This outstanding display of eco-friendly and sustainable design has set a new benchmark in the world of architecture.

Alongside Adani's two projects, this year's Prix Versailles list also includes airports in Guangzhou (China), Frankfurt am Main (Germany), Kandal Stueng (Cambodia), and Pittsburgh and San Diego in the United States. At the end of the year, three airports from the list will be awarded the 'Prix Versailles World Title' across three categories — overall design, interior architecture, and exterior architecture.

The jury evaluates entries primarily through the lens of 'intelligent sustainability' — a principle that seeks harmony between cultural expression and environmental responsibility. Through this global recognition, Adani Group has further consolidated its standing as one of the leading airport operators in the Asia-Pacific region. The company currently manages seven major airports across India while simultaneously advancing the construction of Navi Mumbai International Airport.##
