Fast Bowling bench strength bolstered
Dhaka, March 08, 2016: Robi has introduced 56 young fast
bowling talents today at the Home of Cricket at Mirpur. These fast bowling
talents were selected through the “Fast Bowler Hunt” camps that were organized
throughout the country over the last two months.
A
total of 51 male fast bowlers, 3 female fast bowlers and 2 physically
challenged fast bowlers were selected through this Fast Bowling talent hunt
programme. Powered by Robi’s Super-Fast Internet the initiative is being
organized by Robi and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Starting
from today, the second phase of the Fast Bowler Hunt initiative will continue
till 13th March 2016. The selected 56 fast bowlers from phase- 1
will go through a thorough screening process. Special attention will be given
to ensure that they can avoid potential injuries that the fast bowlers are
generally exposed to. Also technical assessment and fitness testing will be
carried out. Besides, the shortlisted fast bowlers will be educated on diet,
nutrition and hydration.
Following
two days of training, 20 male fast bowlers out of 51 will qualify to take part
in the final round. On the final day, 10 male fast bowlers will be declared
winners and will be trained under the High Performance team of BCB. On the
other hand, three (3) female fast bowlers will be tested based on their skills
and will join separate training sessions. The physically challenged fast
bowlers will be introduced to the National Disabled team and if they qualify will
join their camp.

Cricket, initiatives like Fast Bowler Hunt programme motivates us prolong the
dream run for the foreseeable future. Robi’s contribution in this regard is
truly praiseworthy”.

We believe that through organizing this Fast Bowling Talent Hunt initiative we have managed to discover the next Mustafiz, Mashrafee, Taskin and Al Amin of the country. Also, this is the first such initiative to have come up with Female and Disabled fast bowlers. We are truly humbled by the overwhelming support we have received from BCB towards organizing this programme.
